How often should I bring my pet for a check-up? ​

    • Puppies and Kittens - should be seen at 6-8 weeks, and then every 3 weeks until 16 weeks of age.

    • Adult Dogs & Cats – should be seen every 6 months for well-visits 

    • Exotic Pets – should be seen every 12 months for well-visists.

 

Do you offer emergency veterinary care?​

    • Yes, we provide emergency services during our regular business hours. For after-hours emergencies, we recommend contacting the nearest 24-hour     emergency veterinarian. Animal emergency of Braselton or North Georgia Veterinary.

What vaccines do my pet need? ​

   • Vaccination requirements depend on the species, age, and lifestyle of your pet. Our veterinarians will create a customized vaccination plan during your pet's     wellness exam. All cats, dogs, and some exotic pets in Georgia legally need to have a rabies vaccine.

How do I care for my pet's dental health?​

   • Like us, unhealthy teeth can lead to unhealthy organs. Yearly dental cleaning will ensure your pet’s longevity and significantly reduce the risk of heart disease   while improving their quality of life.

What should I do if my pet is not eating or behaving normally?​

   • Changes in eating habits or behavior can indicate underlying issues. Contact us to schedule a visit. Under no circumstances should you ever dose over the  counter or prescription medication without first consulting your veterinarian.

 

How can I prepare my pet for a visit? ​

    • Contact our office or request a visit through the website

    • Forward any medical records or updated vaccines to daculaanimalhospital@gmail.com

    • Alert our staff if your pet is nervous or may not tolerate handling. We want to reduce stress for you and your pet as much as possible!

 

Do you take walk-ins?​

    • Yes, but there may be a wait. If you would like to make sure we are able to care for your pet in a timely manner, please plan ahead and schedule an     appointment. 

 

Do you care for exotic animals? ​

    • Yes! We now care for exotic animals (retiles, rabbits, pocket pets, etc). Please contact our office to request specific services.
